The Anchor Project Group at our university, led by Director Hwang Wan-sik, signed a five-party memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Mako Korea, Make It All, Quaternion, and the Korea Tourism Development Institute at Vision Hall on campus on the 23rd. The agreement aims to jointly address climate and environmental issues in northern Gyeonggi Province.
The agreement was established to contribute to local community development and the achievement of carbon neutrality by connecting the participating organizations’ climate technologies, educational resources, and tourism resources. Under the agreement, the five organizations will collaborate in six areas: identifying local climate and environmental issues and pursuing joint projects; operating climate technology education programs and training professionals; collecting and analyzing local environmental data and demonstrating technologies using drones and AI; developing climate education and tourism content and operating experiential programs; developing climate and energy monitoring technologies; and operating community-linked living labs.
Responsibilities have been allocated according to each organization’s area of expertise. The Anchor Project Group will plan projects to address local issues based on our university’s research and educational infrastructure and lead industry-academia-research collaboration, education, and technology demonstration projects. Mako Korea will provide drone- and AI-based climate technology education and collect and analyze local environmental data. Make It All will oversee climate data analysis, AI application education, and experiential programs. Quaternion will support drone-based climate and energy monitoring technologies and the operation of climate education and tourism programs. The Korea Tourism Development Institute will develop climate education and tourism content, train professionals, and provide consulting on program planning and operation.
This agreement expands the scope of cooperation into climate technology education and climate education tourism, following a multilateral cooperation agreement signed on January 28 with the Goyang Research Institute, EnergyX, the Goyang Carbon Neutrality Support Center, and the Regional Economy Green Alliance. Through this agreement, the Anchor Project Group plans to connect our university’s research and educational infrastructure with the local community to address climate and environmental challenges and strengthen a foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation and shared regional growth.
